# Choose your Cloud Agent setup

> Decide on Agent software, AI access, compute, and preferences before you deploy.

Use this optional guide if you are unsure what to select in the deployment
wizard. If the choices already make sense, continue with the quickstart.

## Choose Agent software

**Agent software is separate from the Cloud Agent run path.** Cloud Agent
describes where the Agent runs and who manages its runtime. Agent software
determines the interface and workflows you use with that Agent.

When these options appear, the released wizard describes them this way:

| Agent software | Choose it when                                                                                                      |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Hermes**     | You want the option recommended for most people and plan to chat with and manage the Agent in the Hermes Dashboard. |
| **OpenClaw**   | You already use OpenClaw and want its Control UI and workflows.                                                     |

Do not infer availability if an option is not shown. Make this choice before
AI access because the providers and models you can use can depend on the
selected Agent software.

## Choose AI access and a model

Decide whether to use Clawdi AI, a saved AI Provider shown as usable, or model
access that you configure inside the Agent after deployment. Then choose a
primary model from the options the wizard presents for that access method.

usage are handled.

## Choose compute

Compare the resources, current price, billing terms, and availability shown in
the wizard against the work you expect the Agent to do. For a paid choice,
review the funding method and exact confirmation shown before continuing.

Compute and model usage are separate cost boundaries. The live wizard and the
Agent's settings are the sources of truth for current compute offers; this
documentation does not reproduce them. See [Cloud Agent usage and

## Personalize the Agent

Choose a recognizable name, then review the language and timezone the Agent
should use. You can review language and timezone later in the Agent's
**Settings**. These preferences do not change the run path or Agent software.

## Review before you deploy

Check that the summary shows the intended Agent software, AI access and model,
compute choice, name, language, and timezone. Review any payment confirmation,
then submit the deployment once and return to the [Cloud Agent
quickstart](/cloud-agents/deploy) to wait for **Running**.
